Changing your Facebook Privacy Settings

Please note that if your Facebook privacy settings are not fully-customized, then your name and profile photo can appear publicly to everyone who views ANY Facebook Fan Page even if they do not have a Facebook account.

If you wish to change this, here's how:

Using the Account menu at the top-right of the main Facebook menu, select the Privacy Settings option. This will take you to the main page for customizing your Facebook profile.

At the very top of this page is a section titled "Basic Directory Information" that explains to you that there is another settings page, other than the one you are currently viewing.

This paragraph has a very subtle text-link at the end. Click it to get to these other settings.

MANY Facebook users don't know about this additional page, so it is possible that every setting on this page of your profile is set to "Everyone". Change all the sections on this page to reflect your desired privacy settings.

Changes are saved immediately if you select the common "Friends of Friends" or "Friends Only" options in the primary pulldown menu of any section on this page.

If you choose the "Customize" option, you will get a pop-up dialog allowing you to select "Me Only", or "Specific People".

Any of these four settings should hide you from "the whole world" on any fan page you've "Liked" through your Facebook account.

Once you've changed this "See my interests and other Pages" section, log out of your account then visit our facebook page. You should no longer see yourself publicly listed.
